There are two reasons for me posting this track right now: 1) It’s t.o.d. appropriate, and 2) It’s a great track. If you haven’t had a chance to check out The xx’s debut album you need to. I have a thing for Indie acts that incorporate soul into their music properly- acts like “anything Justin Vernon does,” New Look, John Mayer (Yeah I like him), Radiohead (Yes, they do) and now The xx to name a few. Sometimes it feels like artists outside of R&B try to force themselves to have soul because they genuinely want it, but just don’t have it. So if you’re up right now and need something to listen to while you’re trying to fall asleep, head over to iTunes (Do people really do that?) and download this album now. I’m sure your dreams will be sweet…there might be some Brits running around though- or maybe they’re from Silverlake.
