Don’t believe me? Pick 5 random indie groups and keep count of how many recurring members there are. Ok, maybe it’s not THAT easy, but seriously think about how many times you’ve realized that one of your favorite indie bands has a member from one of your other favorite indie bands. I know you’re probably thinking, “Wait, Danger Mouse has Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz, Sparkle Horse, DangerDoom and a billion other projects,” and to that I say, “So.” Danger Mouse isn’t even 100% black he’s half Jewish or something. And if he is in fact half Jewish than he REALLY doesn’t count. Not that there is anything wrong with Jewish people- it’s just that they do everything so well and that would give him an advantage over the typical hood variety. Plus only two of those can even be considered “urban.” So come on keep trying to guess…Method Man and Red Man-NO! Jay-Z and R Kelly- Hell No! Bow Wow and Omarion- Don’t even think about it! Is that all you’ve got? Of course it is because the stereotype is true. But don’t blame me, it’s science (shoulder shrug).
