Bon Iver & St. Vincent- Roslyn
To avoid playing into the whole Twilight craze (and selling my sole) I decided to post a picture of an actual New Moon to insure that this post was ONLY about the music- I don’t want any little white girls stumbling upon my page and OMGing over any pictures of that “One Guy” and that “One Girl.” I hate saying it, but I’ve been actually anticipating the soundtrack to the aforementioned movie- not because I’m on some “Oh sh*t, I gotta have it” type vibe, but because I’m interested to see how the songs play out. I still can’t get over the fact that something that has become so TEENYBOPPERISH has decided to associate itself with indie music. These kids probably think Grizzly Bear is a character from the book/movie, and that St. Vincent is a character that will come in a later release in the series. WTF…this song with “Roslyn” is actually pretty decent, and I hate that it is associated with this MONSTER that has been created. Vampires aren’t new. Remember Tom Cruise? Buffy? Jack Bauer before he was Jack Bauer? And let’s not forget Eddie Murphy (or maybe we should). IDK, I didn’t have a problem with Twilight before, but I think if this soundtrack is done the wrong way it will give people an unfair assessment of what this new indie scene is all about . It would be awful to hear these oblivious little OC girls riding around in their cars listening to For Emma or Actor and not even knowing anything about anything. Don’t get me wrong, I love when people get turned onto new music, but in the words of Switch before she dies in The Matrix, “Not like this…” Oops- looks like I forgot to keep this about the music…my bad. Twilight eat a D! But thanks for the music (waves bye while slamming the door). I’M HATIN’!!
